Website Wednesday - 25 colors x 20 months

I love getting things in the mail and easily crush on anything to do with paper and writing, so when I found this site my heart swelled with so much happy I couldn't wait to share.

I'm signed up.

I'm a bit nervous, a little excited, and kinda proud.

Website Wednesday

Technical difficulties prevented me from posting last week's "Website Wednesday"...so this week I'm giving you 2 websites to consider!

The first is DailyLit.com...I'm about a third of the way into "Pride & Prejudice".

Next is PaperBackSwap.com...I've used this site for over a year now and find that it's a great way of getting books to without paying much at all and not having to worry about late fees.

Website Wednesday

I visit daily, on average, about 50 blogs and websites that cover everything from cooking to politics to wedding planning. So when I come across a really interesting needle in the haystack, I love to share it with a mass email. After receiving a few of my emails, ASM suggested that dedicate a weekly blog post to one of those finds.

So I present to you, the first post for "Website Wednesday".

Check it out. I placed an order Monday morning for 8 items with an expected delivery of Thursday (FREE SHIPPING!) and them promptly removed "Target" from my to-do list for this weekend.

Leaves me more time to discover new blogs. ;-)

I'll write an update on the service once the order arrives.

"...a list of things I want to do with you before I die."

Sounds a bit morbid but it was one of the most touching text messages I have ever received.

Went to high tea on Sunday with ASM and it was the most enjoyable afternoon. We have a list of tea services in Dallas that we want to make our way through and this particular parlor is inside an antique store. After enjoying our tea, tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts, we wandered the stalls for a couple of hours. ASM found the paragon of indoor benches and I really, really hopes she goes back to get it. I found an art-deco dining set that sent my heart a-fluttering. It was so perfect, it's Tuesday evening and my heart is still a-fluttering over it.
Next on the list...Canton, Texas.

Constant Companion

I'm still in the preliminary stages where the focus is skeletal and muscular conditioning (the cardiovascular training will start in the fall). And I've started running outside again...the fresh air and the heat and the sweat and asphalt...it's addicting. I know it's the endorphins kicking in but I was at a conference for 4 days and by the end of day 1 all I could do was think about getting back to the trail for my next "fix". But I suppose there are worse things to become addicted to. Like cupcakes. Or plain M&Ms. :0)

Jello is a lot harder to work with than I thought...

My friend HC's last day at NM is tomorrow and I couldn't think of a better farewell for her than a calculator in jello.

"it's not easy being green"

mr. roshbosh and I have been in our place for a little over 2 years now and I've just about had enough of the beige walls. We've both had enough actually but it's taken some time to agree on paint colors. Bold? Neutral? Earthy?

WE'RE GOING GREEN!

I came across this picture last week and it just made me so happy. It took some time to track down but I got the manufacturer and shade name and it's going in the master bedroom. I can't wait.

Poser!

I signed up for this race with friends from work on a lark but it turns out this 5K thing is pretty serious. A friend offered to pick up my shirt for the race for me since I had a meeting during the designated pick-up time today, and when I got back to my desk, there was a real running shirt (as in not made from 100% cotton) waiting for me. With a real number thingy. And an orange thingamabob for my shoes. I feel so "official" but kind of silly at the same time since I'm not a runner in the true sense of the word. I have regular appointments with the treadmill but it's nothing serious.

After the race, runners get free beer and food.

I think I'm going to like this whole 5K race thing.

Triple Nerd Score

I bought book 3 this past Sunday. It's been 4 days and I haven't caved. I've been waiting for mr. roshbosh's next trip (he leaves for Jacksonville on Sunday).

But here's the thing. I kinda don't want to start the book.

Because then I'll be one book closer to it all being over.

"Alright, stop whatcha doin'...'cause I'm about to ruin, the image and the style that ya' used to."

Went to a yoga class last night - my first one in a few months - at my new gym, and it was everything that yoga isn't supoosed to be. I left the class more tense and stressed and ANGRY than I was when I walked in.

I didn't think it was possible to miss a gym so much. My old gym was a good fit and this new one is...different. Nothing I can't get used to but it's going to take some time for it to feel comfortable.

Just like breaking in a pair of shoes...

A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life...

...in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful implanted in the human soul.
-Johann Wolfgang Goethe

I threw my sister a Girl’s Weekend last August; a bridal shower and bachelorette party combo event, replete with pink drinks and hot pink feather boas.

Well, it is now April and mr. roshbosh and I are still finding little feathers in random places.

This particular stowaway was found during our weekly grocery trip inside one of our canvas shopping bags.

I have no idea how it found its way there, but I love how each little feather reveals itself…in shoes, in cabinets, under beds, in books…and takes me back to that weekend.

the square root of pi is 1.7724538...

Had a much needed "twilight" watching party the other night with the girls at work.

There was wine and pizza and wine and gossip and candy and lots and lots of pretty.

(As in a very pretty Edward and pretty cars and pretty music.)

I'm trying very hard to wait until May to buy the last 2 books in the series. I don't have the discipline to buy the books and then let them wait on my bookshelf until it's time to read them. I'm testing my willpower instead by waiting for mr. roshbosh's next work trip in May to indulge. I tend to neglect and shut-out everything around me when it comes to these books so it's best that he's not around when I decide to disappear into the pages.

Oh my God May cannot get here soon enough.

Lamp Love

Didn't realize it had been so long since my last post...but I'm back!

(Hi Lauren!)

So during my hiatus, I came across the lamp above at a salvage sale and the moment I saw it, I was in love. Like, oh-my-god-I-think-I'm-going-to-pass-out-from-the-sheer-giddiness-of -being-in-its-presence kind of love. It didn't have a lamp shade, but I didn't care. How difficult could it be to find a black lamp shade? (Turns out, pretty damn difficult.) Well after about 8 months of searching and asking and looking EVERYWHERE, I finally found what I was looking for. I had to buy an entire lamp - the base, the harp, the socket - to get the shade, but isn't She pretty?!

Hope your Monday was Mah-valous.
